Moonlight Dreams
The window is open wide and the night has come inside
i look up at the stars and feel for battle scars
i can see mars in the clouds and my worries drift apart
the moon shines at midnight and the sky is filled so bright
i love the world too fiercely to be stranded within the night
doctors and nurses tend to wounded warriors
cultures blend and pain becomes a courier
i bike down to the water line to see what there is to find
in the dead of the dark the brightest are blind
thats why i am home in the stillness of moonlights
and free to dream all through the daylight
I’ve been to the pacific coast highway and the Ventura one too
i rode magic carpets through deserts of beauty
i saw straight ahead to the thickest of forests
i see my true love and she’s wearing a green vest
thats the color that i honor when my body and mind need rest
theres glistening streams and endless blissful dreams
stare straight ahead if you want to look far behind
my vision of the world has been clear for quite some time
my whole life I’ve been wishing knowing i had everything i want
to be equipped with the moonlight in the farthest of faraway dreams
the lagoon i run down too will set my body free
or the bike ride on the west cliff that has become a strong memory
the night holds my peace like the thoughts held on this page
i kiss goodbye to the little prince
and greet myself to my moonlight dreams
