Not Because They Say

Trees grow and faces fade,

the other way around it may be

Time ticks and faces fade

My heart gushes but it’s still the same

Perception is perception

,I can see,

Its full of deception

I’m a hike on a trail

And my foot pounds the ground

Roots and rocks

we hold dear

are bound to slip

They say keep on

They say to keep on

So keep on I will,

But not because they say.
